Are the Italians coming with a Ducati Streetfighter V2 at EICMA?

Submitted by Jo on

With the EICMA in prospect, the gossip about new models flares up. Yesterday we had a story regarding a possible Honda CBR 1000 RR-R SP2 to be presented at the show.
Today the Italian press is talking about a Streetfighter V2 or a naked bike based on the Panigale V2.

And when the Italian motorcycle gossip starts speculating about a Streetfighter V2, you can actually assume that that bike will come.
A prototype of the Streetfighter V2 would already have been spotted, but those photos are far too unclear to make anything out of.

A smaller Streetfighter would make a lot of sense as Ducati already has almost all parts of the Panigale V2 in house.
Also the 153 hp strong V2 is an ideal engine to compete against contenting bikes like the Triumph Street Triple 765 or the Kawasaki Z900, the Yamaha MT-09 or the KTM 890R to name a few.

We also expect an electronics package with all the modern gadgets, likewise all current Ducati models. We can't wait...
